Via, who does not typically release computers, is making an attempt to one up the world with their mini note. Bigger than a netbook and smaller than a notebook, the mini note is equipped with a larger display than most.

It weighs 2.86 pounds, still incredibly light with its 11.6 inch display on it. That’s a sizable display for the dimensions of the computer only being 9.4″ x 6.9″ x 1.4″. This would mean that the display bleeds right out to the edges of the computer (judging by my algebraic calculation of “a squared plus b squared equals c squared”). It also comes set up with 3 USB ports, a webcam, a card reader, audio outputs and a VGA jack. Seems to be quite decked out!

Prices have not really been discussed yet, but chances are it’s going to be cheaper than a lot of the computers out there.

They plan to debut this computer at the 4G World show this year.
